The number of applicants aspiring for nursing is increased considerably due to the demand for nurses in India and abroad. Our sanctioned intake at present is 50. Twenty five students under the management quota and 25 are under the government selection. The need for increasing admission from 50 to 100 is in progress.

Eligibility for Admission B.Sc. Nursing

Admission is based on TNPPCA norms who apply for management quota. It is required that the candidates should have completed Higher Secondary or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects. Candidates must have obtained 50% aggregate marks on these subjects in the first attempt of writing the examination. No improvement marks also been counted. Candidates have to demonstrate appropriate aptitude and interest for nursing during admission. Any how the management Decision is final within the limits of Law. Communities also applicable within Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility for Admission M.Sc. Nursing

  • Passed the qualification of B.Sc., Nursing Degree of this university or any other university accepted as equivalent thereto.

  • Should have registered with the state nurses and midwives council.

  • B.Sc., Nursing graduates should have one year of experience in teaching hospital or in a college or in a school of Nursing in Community health programme after registration.

  • The B.Sc., Trained Nurses need not have one year of experience after qualification for admission to the M.Sc., Nursing programme. They can be admitted to M.Sc. Nursing soon after the qualification in any branch of study.

  • In case of Male candidates they should have passed any other course recommended by the Indian Nursing council in place of midwifery. These male candidates are not eligible for admission to Branch III and VI irrespective of their experiences in these areas.

  • Every candidate before admission to this programme shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of Medical fitness from an authorized Medical Officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic programme.

  • Candidate before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated Nursing institutions shall obtain an eligibility certificate from the university by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form.
